How do I get a reprint of an article?
All articles are copyright protected and are for personal use only. If you want to reprint an article, or post a copy of an article to a website, you must obtain written permission from Publisher Donna Brassard at donnab@mainebiz.biz. In your request include the headline and issue date, state that you agree to reprint the article in its entirety without adding or deleting from it, agree to credit Mainebiz by indicating the issue date and "Reprinted with permission from Mainebiz" on the reprint and explain what format the reprint will take (e.g., website, photocopy, reformatted reprint) and how you will use it. Afterwards, provide us with a link to it online or a physical copy of it.
Once we receive the reprint request, you will receive
permission in writing. Permission to reprint is based on your compliance
with the policy above. Failure to do so may result in legal action.
Mainebiz can provide for a fee the document you are
requesting to reprint in several electronic formats. After you receive reprint
permission, contact Sarah Sutton, sales and marketing coordinator, at ssutton@mainebiz.biz to
see what is available.

Can I write for Mainebiz?
The best way to submit articles, story pitches and ideas is via e-mail to Editor Taylor Smith at tsmith@mainebiz.biz.
If you wish to contribute, please spend some
time familiarizing yourself with Mainebiz. And tell us
a little about yourself, your experience and background as a
writer and qualifications for writing a particular story. If you
have clips you can send us via e-mail, or Web addresses of pages
that contain your work, please send us a representative sampling
(no more than three or four, please).
Please send the text of your query or submission
in plain text in the body of your e-mail, rather than as an attached
file, as we may not be able to read the format of your file. We
do our best to respond to all inquiries, but be aware that we are
sometimes inundated.

Does Mainebiz offer journalism internships?
Yes. And you, as a Mainebiz editorial intern,
are no coffee-carrying lackey. Instead, you quickly become a part
of our six-person staff, participating in editorial meetings, writing
briefs, columns and -- if you're good -- feature stories, proofreading
and occasionally throwing a ball for Zoey, our office dog. We can't offer you cash, but we can guarantee you'll leave with a
handful of clips and a head full of journalism know-how.
Want proof? Here's what Caitlin Elsaesser, a 2004 graduate
of Carleton College, wrote about her internship during
the summer of 2003: "Mainebiz gave me the
perfect window into the world of journalism. During
the entire duration of my summer internship, I felt
like I was a part of the staff: I was included in all
decision making meetings and often asked for input.
The staff at Mainebiz worked to accommodate my personal
goals for the summer."
What we want from you (there had to be a catch, right?)
is a commitment of 15-20 hours a week for 10 weeks.
If your college or university offers a one-month program,
we can talk about that, too. Journalism majors are
great, but we're also happy to talk with other juniors
and seniors with solid, demonstrable writing experience.
Interested? Check out www.mainebiz.biz, then email Editor Taylor
Smith at tsmith@mainebiz.biz.
We'll look at your writing samples, set up an interview and see where
it goes.
