Early Wednesday, Central Maine Power Co. reported that slightly more than 16,000 electricity customers are still without power in the wake of Tropical Storm Sandy.
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that the storm knocked out power to more than 150,000 customers across the state at its peak.
About three-quarters of those still without power early Wednesday were in York and Cumberland counties, according to a CMP press release.
The company says it expects to have power restored throughout the state by late tonight.
