How much would you pay for a pair of 123-year-old Levi’s blue jeans? Daniel Buck Auctions & Appraisals of Lisbon Falls is hoping that a fan of the all American brand will bring out the big bucks for an upcoming auction.
A pair of Levi’s 501s made in the 1880s sold for $60,000 in 2005 and the Associated Press reported that another pair, made in 1888, sold for six figures six months ago.
“They’re brand-new Levi’s. They just happen to be 123 years old,” auctioneer Daniel Buck Soules, who worked over a decade on public television’s “Antiques Roadshow,” told the AP.
The auction at Daniel Buck Auctions & Appraisals for the 123-year-old Levi blue jeans was scheduled to take place on Saturday, but the AP reported that technical issues forced the auction house to push the auction to a future date.
