Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine recently said its rate increase for individuals will be lower than the South Portland insurer originally planned.
This summer, Anthem announced it wanted to raise rates across its HealthChoice line, which serves the self-employed and others not covered under group plans, by almost 19%, according to the Associated Press. The insurer now says it will request a rate increase of slightly more than 13%.
About 25,000 people in Maine are enrolled in HealthChoice.
