Scarborough-based coffee shop chain Aroma Joe’s has opened its newest location in Bethel.
Based at 44 Mayville Road, about a mile from downtown Bethel, the shop will employ 15 people and expand the brand's presence in western Maine.
The new location is led by franchise partners Mark Paulin and Michael Pelletier, both of whom have ties to the region.
The Oxford County town has a population of 2,500 and is home to the Gould Academy and has two nearby ski areas, Mt. Abrams and Sunday River, and other recreational options.
“We love this area and truly believe in Bethel’s future,” said Pelletier. “Opening an Aroma Joe’s here gives us the opportunity to be part of the town’s growth while serving something people genuinely enjoy.”
The new store
The Bethel location is a newly built, 1,000-square-foot store with a drive-thru. It offers coffee, espresso, energy drinks, soft drinks and food options.
Recently, the company opened a second location in Scarborough, on Payne Road.
Aroma Joe’s launched in 2000 in New Hampshire and later moved to Maine. Today, the chain has 132 locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut and Florida.
