The Governor’s Energy Office has released the results of its weekly heating fuel price survey and found that for the second time in two weeks, the current statewide average price for No. 2 heating oil has increased.
At $1.73 per gallon, this week’s price for No. 2 oil is one cent higher than last week. The average statewide price for kerosene went up a single cent to $2.27 a gallon, while the $2.24 price per gallon for residential heating customers marks a two cent jump from last week.
The energy office noted in its weekly report that despite the increase in heating oil prices for the second week in a row, the price is still 28 cents per gallon less expensive than it was at the beginning of Maine’s heating season in October.
