Auburn-based VIP Tires adds to its footprint in southern New England

VIP Tires & Service recently acquired a third and fourth service center in Connecticut, expanding the Auburn-based company’s New England footprint to 76 locations across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

In Maine, the company operates 35 service facilities from Madawaska to Arundel.

Earlier this month, VIP Tires acquired Tires International, of Manchester, Conn., in suburban Hartford.

Now this week VIP Tires said it has acquired another Constitution State business, Wallingford Tire & Auto, 20 minutes north of New Haven, Conn.

“Wallingford is a great town for VIP with almost 45,000 residents, and owner John Bonini has built a great business at this location,” said Tim Winkeler, VIP’s president and CEO. “Our team members plan on being very involved in the local community and carrying on John’s tradition of giving back and helping others.”
