Auburn fabric co. nets Navy deal

Auburn Manufacturing Inc. yesterday announced it has won two U.S. military contracts worth up to $7.8 million.

The Mechanic Falls company, which makes fabrics used for high-temperature protection, will make fabrics for the military to be used during naval ship repairs, according to the Sun Journal in Lewiston. It’s the fifth contract the company has been awarded over the past 15 years, and will provide work for the company’s 50 employees for the next several years, according to Portland news channel WCSH 6.
