A Kennebunk waste-to-energy company’s plans to move into the former Louisiana-Pacific mill in Baileyville seem to be losing steam.
Damar Dore, who holds the option on the former L-P mill, told the Bangor Daily News that negotiations with Baetel Corp. have “ceased.” But spokespeople for L-P told the paper that nothing has changed and Baetel’s executive vice president, Gregg Dinino, said, “As far as we are concerned, it is still alive. That is all I can say at this point.”
In August, Baetel announced it planned to redevelop the mill to generate electricity, produce fuel, and develop a green business and energy park. L-P closed its oriented strand board plant in 2005, and the facility has been idle since then.
