Weeks after expanding its Florida footprint with the acquisition of Conceptual Design Group Inc., Bangor-based engineering firm Haley Ward announced another deal in the Sunshine State.
The most recent acquisition is for Michael B. Schorah & Associates Inc., an engineering firm based in West Palm Beach, Fla. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“This acquisition strengthens our presence along Florida's Atlantic Coast and positions us to better support clients throughout the region with expanded resources and multidisciplinary expertise,” said Roderick Kennedy, Haley Ward’s Southeast operations director.
Expanded footprint
With the integration of Schorah, Haley Ward now has Florida offices in West Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Melbourne and the Gulf Coast city of Fort Myers.
The expanded footprint positions the firm to better serve clients across some of Florida's fastest-growing communities and development markets, according to a news release.
It’s anticipated that clients of both firms will benefit from access to a broader range of services, including architecture, engineering, environmental consulting, landscape architecture, planning, surveying, geospatial technologies and related disciplines.
The acquisition creates new opportunities for Schorah employees and clients, said Michael LaCoursiere, Schorah’s senior vice president and co-owner.
Schorah was established in 1979.
With 136 employees in Maine and 300 overall in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida, Haley Ward ranks No. 9 among the state’s largest engineering firms in the 2026 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
