The former president of the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce has accepted a severance package, in the latest in the debate over her recent dismissal.
Candy Guerette has agreed to a severance package of four months pay plus benefits, John Diamond, chairman of the chamber’s board, told the Bangor Daily News. Her attorney, Charles Gilbert, sent a letter to chamber members Friday to announce an agreement had been reached but did not give specifics. A special meeting that had been scheduled for Friday to further discuss Guerette’s dismissal was subsequently cancelled.
The chamber board’s executive committee dismissed Guerette in late June for poor performance, and last week the entire board upheld the decision.
