The Greater Bangor Association of Realtors raised and donated $43,960 last year to support local housing and community service organizations.
The money was collected through a series of fundraising events hosted by the board with support from Realtors, affiliates, sponsors and community participants.
Several donations were enhanced through matching funds from the Maine Association of Realtors Foundation.
Benefiting organizations included Penquis, with $5,640 to benefit Theresa’s Place, a low-barrier emergency shelter in Bangor that provides safe, temporary housing for adults experiencing homelessness, including individuals who might not qualify for traditional shelter settings.

Theresa’s Place offers overnight shelter, meals, case management support, and connections to housing and essential services, helping individuals stabilize and take steps toward long-term housing solutions, especially during Maine’s cold winter months.
Design Wall Housing received $12,620. It provides safe, affordable housing and supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the Bangor area. Its programs focus on long-term solutions, helping residents transition to permanent housing while receiving the support needed to rebuild stability and independence.

The Elizabeth Levinson Center received a $25,700 donation. The residential care facility serves children and adults with significant developmental disabilities and complex medical needs. The center provides compassionate, around-the-clock care in a safe, supportive environment, ensuring dignity, stability and quality of life for some of the community’s most vulnerable residents.
