Bangor Savings’ parent company doubles net income for fiscal year

Bangor Bancorp, the holding company for the largest Maine-based bank, posted net income more than double that of a year ago.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, the bank firm had net income of $30.2 million, up from $12.6 million a year earlier.

Performance was helped by “sustaining long-term investments and innovation through strong core earnings, sound credit management and diverse revenue streams,” the Bangor-based company said.

It recorded assets of $7.2 billion, even with a year ago, and 70 branches, with a footprint in Maine and New Hampshire.

Bangor Bancorp’s principal subsidiary is Bangor Savings Bank, the largest Maine-based bank, according to the 2026 Mainebiz Book of Lists, which ranks banks by asset size. By market share, it ranks No. 2, behind TD Bank.
