Bangor Savings Bank, the largest Maine-based bank in assets, plans to open a new branch in Manchester, N.H., as part of an ongoing expansion push in New Hampshire.
The Bangor-based bank last week notified the Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions of plans to launch a branch in Manchester, the largest city in the Granite State. It will become BSB’s second location in Manchester and eighth location, including branches and business locations, in New Hampshire.Â
The full-service branch will open in November and offer a drive-up, lobby and business banking. The branch will employ 12 people.
“We’ve had a warm welcome in the greater Manchester area, and are thrilled to be able to take this opportunity to add another location in N.H. to further support the needs of customers and community,” said Wendy Durrah, senior vice president and chief of staff at Bangor Savings Bank.
Bangor Savings, founded in 1852, has other New Hampshire branches, including those in Portsmouth, Amherst and Concord. Overall, the bank has more than 60 branches in Maine and New Hampshire and business and loan production offices in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.Â
The bank has more than $6.1 billion in assets.
