Bar Harbor voters have approved the construction of two solar installation projects that will be built by solar energy firm Revision Energy.
The Bangor Daily News reported that Revision will build one solar installation for Bar Harbor’s public works building and another that would act as a community solar farm and provide power for nine local households.
Gary Friedman, vice chairman of the Bar Harbor Town Council, said he sees the community solar farm as a pilot project that could lead to a larger project in the future that would provide power to hundreds of homes and businesses.
