BIA interim director given permanent post

Tony Caruso, who’s been serving as interim director of the Bangor International Airport for three months, has been made its permanent head.

Caruso served for 10 years as BIA’s assistant director until March, when he began serving as interim director in place of Rebecca Hupp. He was offered the permanent post Monday and accepted the job, according to the Bangor Daily News. The city received 30 applications for the director’s job and narrowed those down to three finalists before offering the job to Caruso. He’ll receive a salary of between $76,946 and $103,360.

Hupp left BIA after a decade as director to take a job in Boise, Idaho.
