BIA lays off another 10 workers

The Bangor International Airport has laid off another 10 full-time workers after laying off 15 earlier this month.

The Bangor Daily News reported that the latest layoffs include ramp attendants, customer service staff, mechanics and others. The layoffs are due to decreased traffic, particularly from military charter flights, in recent years.

Before the 25 total layoffs, the airport had 83 full-time employees and 70 part-time, seasonal or on-call workers.
