A proposed $50 million redevelopment plan for the Lincoln Mill in Biddeford cleared a hurdle this week that could ultimately lead to the creation of at least 200 permanent jobs.
The Portland Press Herald reported that the plan was given conditional approval by the Biddeford Planning Board on Wednesday. The plan, which would transform the mill into the Lincoln Hotel and Lofts, calls for 96 apartments, two restaurants and an 81-room hotel.
Project developer Tim Harrington, who has helped develop several hotels and restaurants in Kennebunkport, must submit final plans to the city’s Planning Board by Jan. 7.
Construction is expected to take 18 to 24 months, the newspaper previously reported.
