James Confalone, owner of Big Squaw Mountain Resort near Greenville, announced Monday that three trails are operating at Big Squaw and more will soon be open, rebutting reports last week that the resort is dormant.
A Bangor Daily News story on Dec. 13 reported that Greenville town manager and Moosehead Lake Region Chamber of Commerce heads were frustrated that they didn’t know about Confalone’s present or future plans for the resort and efforts to contact him were “problematic.” Confalone had declined to be interviewed by the newspaper for that story.
The resort is scheduled to be open Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, and then on weekends and holidays, according to the paper.
