Bath Iron Works isn’t laying off 63 people after all, the Times Record reported today.
The yard on March 25 said it planned to lay off 63 people as of last Friday because of a slowdown in work. But by Friday afternoon, yard officials found available jobs for those employees, the paper said. BIW spokesman Jim DeMartini couldn’t confirm this morning if all those workers had accepted BIW’s offer.
