The group charged with redeveloping the Brunswick Naval Air Station once it closes in 2011 has approved a 2009 budget of more than $780,000, a six percent increase over this year’s budget.
Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority board members unanimously approved the $780,614 budget on Tuesday, according to The Times Record in Brunswick. The authority must adjust its contract with the Department of Defense’s Office of Economic Adjustment, which funds 90% of its operations. The remaining 10% is funded by the Community Development Block Grant program.
The 2009 budget includes funding for a full-time accounting position, financial and personnel software, design guidelines and consulting services.
