A Boothbay Harbor man accused of cheating more than 50 people out of over $2.5 million through a company called ConsensusOne pleaded guilty to federal charges Thursday.
The Associated Press reported that 62-year-old Garrett Denniston, a former resident of Newtown, Conn., and Boothbay Harbor, admitted in a Connecticut court to one count of wire fraud.
He faces up to 20 years in prison for courting investments that he then spent for business and personal expenses, including ski trips and country club memberships.
