British firm to finish $1M Caribou expansion

Porvair, a British filter manufacturer, is expected to complete a nearly $1 million expansion this December for the Caribou manufacturing facility it purchased last year.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Porvair expects the 7,000-square-foot expansion at the Chand Eisenmann Metallurgical site in Caribou to increase capacity for the facility’s filter production, which could in turn spur the creation of new jobs.

Porvair purchased Burlington, Conn.-based Eisenmann and its assets, including the company’s sole manufacturing facility in Caribou, for $5.5 million last year.
