City councilors in Lewiston yesterday approved selling the Androscoggin Bank Colisee to Firland Management, an ice rink management firm in Veazie.
By a 5-2 vote, councilors approved selling the property for $1 million to Firland, but only if the firm can produce $250,000 in collateral by this Friday, according to the Sun Journal in Lewiston.
Under the purchase agreement, Firland has until April 2009 to buy the facility. Until then, the firm will operate the Colisee and be responsible for all expenses, the paper reported.
