The Bangor-based C&L Aerospace has partnered with a Swedish company to buy 14 Saab 340B airplanes, which will undergo refurbishment in Bangor before being resold.
The Bangor Daily News reported the $10 million purchase from Delta subsidiary Endeavor Airlines is the largest in the company’s history, completed in partnership with Swedish aircraft lessor Rockton. The planes will be among the first to be painted at a new C&L facility that is part of the company’s $5 million expansion at the Bangor International Airport. C&L CEO Chris Kilgour said the renovations, which also expand the company’s hangar and office space, are nearly complete and the company plans to move into the new space in April. After refurbishing and painting the aircraft, the company will also provide marketing services to either sell or lease the planes.
