Clean tech's impact

The Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program recently released information about Maine’s clean tech sector. According to the study:

  • Maine had 12,212 clean tech jobs in 2010, placing 44th in the nation
  • Clean tech jobs account for about 2% of all jobs in the state, placing it at 24th in the nation
  • From 2003 to 2010, clean tech job growth occurred at an annual rate of 4%, adding more than 2,900 jobs
