Over 40 customer service representatives at Central Maine Power Co.’s Augusta call center have voted to join a larger workers’ union with more than 500 company employees represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1837.
The union reported a vote led to certification of the IBEW as the workers’ bargaining representative in late June.
This year’s vote was the second by that group of workers to join the union. A 2005 effort failed.
