International WoodFuels is building a wood pellet plant in Burnham that will employ about 35 people, according to the Associated Press.
The announcement was made prematurely through details posted on Gov. John Baldacci’s online schedule. More details will be released tomorrow at a formal press conference in Portland. “We are having an announcement tomorrow,” Matt Jacobson, CEO of Maine & Co., told Mainebiz. “The governor’s schedule is correct.”
The Waldo County mill will produce up to 100,000 tons of premium pellets annually, the AP reported. International WoodFuels has offices in Portland and San Diego.
