Coastal Healthcare Alliance announced the retirement of its president and CEO, Mark Biscone, and said he’ll be succeeded by Mark Fourre, who is chief medical officer at LincolnHealth in Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor.
He stays within the MaineHealth network of hospitals.
Fourre, who will start at the end of 2016, came to Maine Medical Center 27 years ago. He assisted in developing its emergency medicine residency program and has held various roles within MaineHealth, including his current post as chief medical officer.
“In Mark [Fourre] we get someone with experience delivering high-quality care through a network of health care providers. As we seek to maximize the opportunities of Pen Bay and Waldo working together, Mark is exactly the leader we need,” said Carole Brand, a member of the Coastal Healthcare board and chair of the search committee for Biscone’s replacement.
Coastal Healthcare oversees Pen Bay Medical Center, Waldo County General Hospital and community based health services.
