Collins pours one of her own to mark brewery opening

On Friday, the red carpet was rolled out to celebrate the grand opening of Mason’s Brewing Co., as U.S. Sen. Susan Collins joined city officials, brewery owner Christopher Morley and beer lovers to ring in the opening on Maine’s newest craft brewery in Brewer.

According to the Bangor Daily News, after the ribbon-cutting ceremony Collins really got down to business — pouring herself a glass of Mason’s Farmhouse Saison style of beer.

“It’s not too hoppy. It’s crisp and fruity,” Collins remarked about the brew, according to the BDN.

As part of the opening celebration, Morley was also presented the key to city by Brewer Mayor Bev Uhlenhake, who also presented a Brewer Challenge Coin to the visiting senator, according to the BDN.
