The Appropriations Committee on Wednesday unanimously endorsed the nomination of Ryan Low as the new commissioner of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, according to The Times Record in Brunswick.
Low, currently Gov. John Baldacci’s deputy chief of staff, was nominated by the governor on July 18. If approved, Low would replace Rebecca Wyke, who this week left the position to become vice chancellor of finance and administration for the University of Maine System. Low would oversee the state’s $6.3 billion budget, according to the paper.
The Senate is expected to meet Aug. 20 to approve the nomination.
