Corinna screen printing co. raided

Federal and state agencies yesterday raided a screen printing business in Corinna as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

The U.S. Immigrations and Customs’ Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations Unit, the Internal Revenue Service, Maine State Police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday removed filing cabinets and boxes from Berg Sportswear, a company that makes apparel and is known for its politically incorrect and humorous slogans, according to reports from the Bangor Daily News and the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. Agencies declined to specify the nature of the investigation, and owner Bob Berg declined to respond to questions.

According to its website, Berg Sportswear was founded in 1985 by Berg’s father, Ralph, and has about 20 employees in the Penobscot County town.
