A new craft beer business is opening in Fort Kent.
The Fiddlehead Focus reported that five friends — David Saucier, Travis Jandreau, Travis Guy, Matt Deprey and Dr. Rodney Lahren — are opening First Mile Brewing Co. to fill a gap in Fort Kent’s dining and entertainment industry.
“We collectively all felt this was something Fort Kent was truly lacking,” Guy told the newspaper.
Word of mouth alone has already garnered inquiries from potential customers, including out-of-state moose hunters planning to visit the area. The partners told the newspaper they plan to join the Maine Brewers Guild, in order to be included on the Maine Beer Trail. Brews range from blonde ales to stouts.
