Bowdoinham-based commercial glass installer Cumberland County Glass has been acquired by a Texas company that wants to expand its presence in New England.
Dwyer Group of Waco, Texas, said the acquisition is part of a strategy to add customers in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Terms of the acquisition, which is the seventh for the Dwyer Group in the last 25 months, were not disclosed.
Ken Boucher, the founder and owner of Cumberland County Glass, will assume the newly created position of director of commercial accounts of the Dwyer Group’s Portland Glass network. Boucher will report to Steve Butler, who has been promoted from vice president and general manager to president of Portland Glass.
Cumberland County Glass’ 20 employees will also join the Dwyer Group’s Portland Glass network.
Dwyer Glass is a holding company for a variety of service companies: Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, The Grounds Guys, Five Star Painting, Molly Maid, Mr. Appliance, Mr. Electric, Mr. Handyman, Mr. Rooter, ProTect Painters, Rainbow International and Locatec.
