Noble Pizzeria & Barbecue owner Ryan Cary announced on social media that the Portland restaurant will close next month after nearly nine years in business.
He cited a desire to spend more time with his growing family and focus on other business ventures.
The restaurant's final day of operation will be on July 12. The space will become a sports bar called the Sports Bra, which will have a women's sports theme.
Carey shared the news on Monday in a statement posted to the restaurant's social media pages, calling the decision to close Noble "incredibly difficult."
"As my family grows, I have come to realize that I can no longer give the restaurant the focus it deserves while also being fully present for the people who need me most," Carey wrote. "At this stage in life, I am choosing to turn more of my time and energy toward my family and other businesses."
The closure will bring an end to a nearly decade-long run for the restaurant, which opened at 1706 Forest Ave. in July 2017.
In 2024, Noble relocated to 476 Stevens Ave., the former home of Elsmere BBQ, and rebranded the location as Noble Pizzeria & Barbecue.
In his announcement, Carey reflected on the restaurant's role in the neighborhood, particularly following the move to Stevens Avenue.
"We set out to build something special for the neighborhood; together, we did exactly that," Carey wrote. "We became the community gathering hub we always dreamed of being."
