Yarmouth-based DeLorme Publishing said its inReach global satellite communications device was hacked, but the resulting data breach contained no financial information.
The Portland Press HeraldĀ reported that the data breach of DeLormeās inReach service included names, mailing addresses, email addresses and other contact information for accounts that were opened between July 30, 2014, and March 5. The birth dates and emergency contact information for some accounts also were exposed.
DeLorme spokeswoman Kim Stiver told the newspaper that the service was shut down within 24 hours of its detection, and that the FBI has been informed.
