A new Dollar General store is coming to the town of Sullivan, following the sale of a house and barn on Route 1 to a developer who leases properties to the discount retailer for new stores.
In addition to the house and barn, both of which will be torn down, Todd Hamula, a senior development manager for the Lakewood, Ohio-based Zaremba Group, also purchased the three acres where the 9,100-square-foot store will be built, according to The Ellsworth American.
“They are doing stores in multiple locations in Maine,” Sullivan’s code enforcement officer, Millard Billings, told the American. “They have one that is almost built in Searsport and after our meeting he was going to Machias.”
Although Zaremba Group has yet to file an application for a building permit, Billings told the American that the store will be open by July 4, 2017.
