Devine Tarbell scooped up by Omaha co.

An architecture and engineering firm in Omaha, Neb., has purchased Portland-based Devine Tarbell & Associates Inc.

HDR said Devine Tarbell & Associates, which consults on hydropower and related renewable energy sectors with utility, industry and government clients, will lead its hydropower efforts and complement its renewable energy practice in the areas of wind, biomass, waste-to-energy, solar and energy management, according to a press release from the company. HDR is an employee-owned architecture, engineering and consulting firm with more than 7,700 professionals in more than 165 locations worldwide, according to its website. Devine Tarbell is also an employee-owned firm, which has nine offices in North America and employs 260 people.

Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. Devine Tarbell will now conduct business as HDR|DTA. John Devine, Devine Tarbell’s president, along with principals John Tarbell, Rick Miller, James Lynch and Ed Luttrell, will become senior vice presidents under the new corporate structure.
