Former Gov. John Baldacci has taken a job with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Baldacci has filled a new position in the DOD and will focus on programs to improve military health care, the Portland Press Herald reported. According to the Bangor Daily News, his title is director of military health reform, in the office of Dr. Clifford Stanley, undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness. Neither Baldacci nor a spokeswoman at the Pentagon provided additional details.
Baldacci, a Democrat, served two terms as governor of Maine, and previously served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District.
