DoorDash workshop aims to open doors for Portland businesses

Small businesses in Portland looking to add delivery services via DoorDash may want to attend a free workshop this week offered by the online food ordering and delivery platform in collaboration with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Thursday’s in-person event will provide hands-on instruction for independently owned businesses with three or fewer locations. Organizers said the session will include training on DoorDash advertising and operational tools, as well as demonstrations of new AI-powered features.

“This workshop connects entrepreneurs not just to new tools, but to a broader ecosystem of support that can help them grow and navigate today’s challenges,” said  Quincy Hentzel, president and CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The workshop comes as small businesses continue looking for ways to manage rising costs and compete for customers in an increasingly digital marketplace. The program builds on DoorDash’s Accelerator for Local Businesses, which has supported more than 400 small businesses nationwide since 2021.

The Workshop series is part of DoorDash’s Unlocking Main Street campaign, which aims to make it easier for small businesses to open and grow in the U.S.

“In Portland, local businesses are at the heart of our neighborhoods,” said Portland Mayor Mark Dion. “This workshop is exactly the kind of investment we want to make in Portland business owners, giving them the tools and connections to grow right here at home.”
