Amtrak’s Boston-Brunswick Downeaster line reported a 5% ridership increase in the first six months of its current fiscal year, compared with the same period last year.
According to the train operator’s count, 256,000 passengers rode the Downeaster during that time.
The Associated Press reported the October-to-March Downeaster ridership figures show the 11th highest percent increase of any Amtrak route in the country.
