Space to Thrive, a nonprofit that provides child care in Windham and Raymond, will open a new early childhood education facility.
The organization will open at 184 Pope Road in Windham. This will be its third location in Windham.
The space will include five classrooms, a multipurpose room, administrative space and will provide care for children ages six weeks through five years old. There is a large outdoor space designed to encourage interaction with natural materials and imaginative play. It also has a courtyard in front of the building to facilitate community events.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to bring such a needed service to the community,” said Hannah Marshall, executive director. “We are committed to providing exceptional quality child care and early education both at this new program and throughout our organization.”
This project was funded through the Coastal Enterprises Inc. Communities Facilities Grant, which uses USDA funds for long-term, lower-cost projects for nonprofit community facilities and the Maine Child Care Infrastructure Grant.
The grand opening for the center will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 5-8 p.m. The event will include community activities as well as offering attendees an exclusive first look at the spaces.
