Ellsworth officials gave final approval Tuesday to a plan to form the Ellsworth Business Development Corp., with a goal of attracting more business to the city.
The Ellsworth American reported officials expect the new entity to be operational by the fall. Its board will have 10 appointed business leaders to start.
Gary Fortier, chairman of Ellsworth’s city council, said in May that the new entity would likely receive a donation of two vacant business parks, which it could sell for its first source of income.
