Maine Course Hospitality Group broke ground on HomeAwhile, an extended-stay hotel in Scarborough.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Oct. 24, jumpstarting construction of the 109-room all-suite hotel.
The hotel will be developed in partnership with Opechee Construction, of Belmont, N.H., a firm known for its expertise in the hospitality industry.Â
Maine Course Hospitality, which is based in Freeport, owns 25 hotels in seven states. It has two under development, including the Scarborough HomeAwhile and a TownePlace Suites in Williston, Vt.
HomeAwhile suites will feature fully equipped kitchens, living areas, bedrooms and dedicated workspaces with high-speed internet access.

“This new hotel brand reflects our commitment to designing and building an extended stay hotel unlike no other, intentionally focusing on elements that will enhance the guest experience by offering a home-like environment where visitors can truly feel at home during their stay, regardless of if they are in for one night or 365 nights,” Sean Riley, president of Maine Course Hospitality, said:Â
The hotel will be near another Maine Course Hospitality property, the Homewood Suites, as well as Sebago Brewing Co.’s Scarborough location.Â
HomeAwhile is scheduled to open in late spring of 2026.Â
