Fairchild Semiconductor today reported a second quarter net loss of $24.9 million, compared to a net income of $6.9 million in the same quarter of 2008.
The semiconductor manufacturer, which employs roughly 1,000 people between its South Portland offices and manufacturing facility, said its second-quarter sales were $277.9 million, a 25% increase from the prior quarter and 34% lower than the second quarter of 2008.
Fairchild’s stock has dropped 2.5% to $8.47 in midday trading.
