FairPoint Communications says it has landed a $16 million contract to provide telecommunication services for 400 health care facilities in northern New England.
According to a press release, FairPoint has secured a four-year contract with the New England Telehealth Consortium that received a $24.6 million federal grant award earlier this year to bring “telemedicine” to the region.
That network will have the ability to connect specialists at urban hospitals and universities to rural health care facilities, behavioral health sites and community health care centers.
