FairPoint Communications has named a new CEO to lead the company, northern New England’s largest telecom company.
FairPoint’s Board of Directors today announced David Hauser, former chief financial officer at Duke Energy Corp., will replace Eugene Johnson as chairman and CEO of the Charlotte, N.C.-based telecom company, according to a press release. Hauser, 57, has been a member of FairPoint’s board since February 2005. He will assume his new responsibilities on July 1, when Johnson retires.
Last year, FairPoint acquired Verizon’s telephone lines in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont for $2.3 billion.
