FairPoint Communications has upgraded its software to fix problems with the Cumberland County 911 emergency response system, the Associated Press reported today.
The Cumberland County Regional Communications Center in Windham had several service outages between mid-April and last weekend. To fix the problem, FairPoint has installed new equipment, tweaked software and revised notification procedures for when there’s a service outage, the AP said.
FairPoint in March acquired Verizon’s telephone lines and high-speed Internet service for $2.3 billion.
