A Falmouth business owner has purchased a lumber company in Holden.
Chris Rhoades, a real estate developer and owner of H.F. Pinkham Inc. hardware and lumber stores in Machias and Milbridge, on Tuesday bought Granville Lumber, a 22-year-old business with locations in Holden and Blue Hill, the Bangor Daily News reported. Rhoades announced his purchase at a press conference this morning with Gov. John Baldacci.
The business will retain its 80 employees, the paper said. Rhoades, who did not disclose the purchase price, plans to rename Granville Lumber and H.F. Pinkham as Rhoades Building Products. Earlier this year, Rhoades opened his own Rhoades Building Products store in Ellsworth, the paper said.
