Farm equipment worker gets jail sentence

A Searsmont man has been sentenced to nine months in jail for stealing more than $18,000 worth of goods from his employer, Union Farm Equipment, and selling them on eBay.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Anthony C. Philbrook, 40, pleaded guilty to felony theft in Knox County Superior Court on Tuesday, when he was handed the sentence, which also includes a three-year probation period.

Philbrook, who was arrested last October following an investigation, will have to repay the farm equipment company the more than $18,000 he stole.
